I love the challenge rounds in Top Chef. They come up with the most creative Quick Fire and Elimination Challenge ideas. If Hell’s Kitchen is raw energy, fireworks and walking on hot coal, Top Chef is poise, class and a sophisticated battle for the top. But they’re both intense and unforgiving. Padma Lakshmi sets the tone of the show really well, with her elegant sense of style. For the first time I saw Casie somewhat frazzled. And Hung is hung up on mixing up wrong ingredients - ice cream and cauliflower?! WHY Hung WHY? And poor Sara N. Oh “baby”.Howie had the cheek to call her the ‘baby of the team.’ How do you do that Howie? But we need Howies and Omarosas for good reality tv. Otherwise, it’s too safe and boring. For that one reason, I think he should stick around till the end and keep teaming up with members who don’t like him much – which is everybody. And I’ll leave it to to Antony Bourdain to demystify Howie’s Cuban sandwich. To me it’s still a mystery.
